Goldenberg Group began work on the project last fall and it is expected to be completed by next summer.
The development involves two buildings totaling 471,000 square feet that will have a total of 984 beds in 368 units. One building will stand 18 stories and the second is 12 stories. View II will also have 20,000 square feet of ground floor retail, a restaurant and commercial space.
The project is rising at 12th Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue on the site of the former John Wanamaker High School, which Goldenberg Group of Blue Bell bought in 2008 for $10.75 million. It is part of a two-phased master planned student housing community that the developer had envisioned on the parcel.
