Intermission, a unique store for the arts, music, culture and kids will host their first annual Mother’s Day Celebration in support of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Philadelphia Affiliate on Thursday, May 11, 2006 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
The evening promises to be a memorable one, complete with live entertainment featuring harpist Candice Lark and vocalist Lauren Lark, and a silent auction where a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Foundation in support of cancer research. To gear up for the event, Intermission will also donate a portion of all sales proceeds for the entire week leading up to the event.
“Breast cancer research is an important cause for the community,” said Ken Goldenberg, owner of Intermission and president and CEO of the Goldenberg Group. “With this event, we hope to help raise awareness for this disease in a unique and entertaining setting.”
“This is an exciting time for Intermission,” said Terry Marek, Intermission Founder and store consultant. “To show our appreciation to our customers, we wanted to celebrate Mother’s Day in a meaningful way and give back to the community.”
On Sunday, May 7, 2006, Intermission will host a table at Chestnut Hill’s Garden Festival along with representatives from the Susan G. Komen Foundation. This will be the final sign up location for the Susan G. Komen “Race for the Cure” which will be held on Mother’s Day.
